What’s a type of champagne you’re loving right now? All champagne is delicious. As a treat for my 50th birthday this past summer, I tried Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Brut Rosé Champagne for the first time. One of the best ever. A complex and extra dry treat. The bubbles are so tiny and smooth. Makes many other champagnes pale in comparison, and that’s not just because this one is a rose.
What place is next on your travel list? Due to the pandemic, a 50th birthday celebration trip with my husband and friends was put on hold. It was meant to be a European extravaganza – starting in London, then meeting friends in Sitges, Spain. After that, off to the champagne region of France for a personalized tour of many of my favorite champagne houses, plus staying at a centuries-old chateau. To wrap up, a 4 day stay in Paris with dinner at the Eiffel Tower. This trip will likely be re-booted in 2022 as a 50th birthday 2.0 celebration.
You love cereal. What are some of your favourites? A real treat is Vector: be prepared for a dose of sugary yumminess. The best part? It stays crispy from the first bite to the last. No soggy cereal in your future with this in your bowl. When I am looking for less sugar, I go for brown Rice Krispies which are gluten free and very low sugar. Still a very satisfying eat, especially when topped with some fresh berries!
What’s a show you’ve recently binged? Fleabag. A hilarious dark comedy. The lead, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is brilliant. A subtle glance at the camera by her, sends me into laughing fits. If particularly sensitive, watcher beware – topics are a pinch racey.
What was the last item you purchased online? With so much time being spent at home, it is enviable little updates which are being prioritized. Some new lamps and nightstands are on their way to freshen up the bedroom.
How many shoes do you own and which is your favourite? Far too many to count. For work, I like my brilliant blue side buckle dress shoe snatched from a window in London, England. They called to me from across the Atlantic and I answered the call. For leisure I go for a pair of white leather tennis shoes with a basket weave design, which I purchased from a lovely boutique in Buenos Aires.
